Haphazardly

Yes, that's my heart on the table.
  It's bruised
        battered
         broken
Haphazardly held together with duct tape and zip ties.

You want to fix it?
HA! I've heard that line so many times now.

And you know what?
No one ever has. They just cause more damage in the effort.

So guess what?
I'll just do it myself this time.

I know what it's supposed to look like,
   I'll put it back together.

I don't need your help.

A poem about taking things into your own hands. Enjoy:)

The Science of Heartbreak

It's human nature.
   We long for another.

Being alone isn't natural.

   It's our chemical make up.

It's the science of it.
   It's the science of heartbreak.

Bonds are formed, and broken.
But without these bonds the atoms we are made of would cease to exist.

Broken. Broken too easily.

Tears are a chemical reaction
    To a broken heart.

The pain is really here.

But that's known.
It's the science of all of it.

So the song "The Scientist" by Coldplay has been stuck in my head since last week's episode of Glee. And I decided to write whilst listening to it. This was the result. Enjoy:)
